Pastor Edward Martin (1967 - 1993)
From 1967 - 1993, Reverend Edward Martin was pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Under his leadership, Bethel's membership continued to grow, so a larger church was built and both a van and bus were purchased.
The congregation took an active role in social ministry, contributing to the well-being of the community. The church's cornerstone reflected its philosophy: "Home of Amazing Grace and Headquarters of the Holy Ghost."
Reverend Martin was a man of God that was an inspiration to his members and his community. In May of 1993, God called his humble servant, Reverend Martin, home, but before that time God had already placed his next leader of the flock in our fold in the form of our present pastor, Reverend Calvin McTier, Ph.D.
